Wald, in dem der Holzeinschlag keinen nennenswerten rechtlichen, wirtschaftlichen oder umweltschutzbedingten Beschränkungen unterliegt (FAO-Definition).

Forests available for wood supply are forests where no legal, economic, or environmental restrictions have a bearing on the supply of wood; it is here that large volumes of commercial wood are generally harvested (Eurostat, "Forestry in the EU and the world. A Statistical Portrait" (2011)).
